A decade of Emirates Photography Competition

Celebrating a decade of the annual Emirates Photography Competition, Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism is hosting an exhibition of some of the most compelling entries. 10 Years of Emirates Photography Competition will host a selection of the winning works and the best entries from the past ten years of the competition. 

The exhibition is divided into two main sections: Spotlight featuring a selection of works by 10 of the best Emirati and international photographers, dealing with various areas such as nature, wildlife, portraits, people, sports, movement, journalism, abstraction, colour, monochrome, approximation, sceneries and travel and Through Time, including a selection of photographs that were shortlisted in previous editions and that met the criteria and terms of the competition.

The exhibition will open on November 27, 2017 with including presentations from seven Emirati winners followed by an open discussion moderated by Khalid Al Hemeiri. A further talk is also scheduled for January 17, 2018 starting with a photographer’s journey towards international recognition by Mohammed Arfan Asif, and ending with a lecture on travel photography by Abbas Kapadia.
