ABOUT ME

I’m Anna Seaman, a Dubai-based art writer, editor and curator specialising in contemporary and digital art across the Gulf region and beyond. For more than fifteen years, I have worked across the region’s art world as a journalist, author, arts editor and curator, and more recently as an on-camera interviewer and moderator. My work centres on translating complex artistic ideas into compelling, accessible narratives, connecting artists and their practices with wider audiences.

My recent work includes authoring Sharjah: The Capital of Culture, published by Assouline in collaboration with Shurooq. I’m arts editor at Hadara Magazine and host The Foundry Show. I also moderate panel discussions, artist conversations and public programmes across the contemporary art and cultural sector.

Born and raised in the UK, I worked as a journalist in London and Bristol before joining the founding team of The National in Abu Dhabi in 2008. I later became editor of Brownbook in Dubai, before returning to The National to focus on visual arts. I have worked independently as a writer and curator since 2017.

In 2021, I co-founded MORROW Collective, a digital art and NFT curatorial venture. The collective is no longer active.

Alongside my personal practice, I work with Alice Johnson through A10 Publications Consultancy, supporting individuals and institutions with bespoke book projects.
