Stuck at home and looking to develop a new skill? The Courtyard Playhouse, one of Dubai’s best loved home-grown businesses has launched a series of specialised online course in the art of improvisation.

Improv Online is taught by professional instructors and takes you from the fundamentals of the art of improvisational theatre, all the way through practicing the exercises with your fellow classmates through virtual platforms and then acting out your own improvised scenes. The best thing is that it is all carried out whilst safely in quarantine and at your own pace.

The theatre sells the programme as ideal for beginners who are new to improv, as well as those who have taken an improv or acting course and want to keep on their toes by building on their skills and knowledge, with a focus on solo scene-work. It is also appropriate for teens and adults and they are all lead by Marie Vercruyssen, Artistic Director of the Courtyard Playhouse, and Rushdi Rafeek, Comedian and Instructor.

At the end of this course, and after restrictions are lifted there will be a showcase on the Courtyard Playhouse stage where you will meet everyone else who took the course and perform your very own improvised scenes in-front of an audience.
