The Leila Heller Gallery, which has an established branch in New York and one of Dubai’s largest commercial galleries in its Alserkal Avenue home, has announced the opening of online viewing rooms.

After first signing up to a newsletter from the gallery, you can use this link to access the viewing rooms, which offers a look at their extensive collection of artists. The highlights from this region include the Nuqta collection by Emirati AbdulQader Al Rais and selected pieces from The Shadow of a Fig Tree Quiets My Soul, the third solo exhibition of Persian-American artist Reza Derakshani which was slated to show in New York over this period.

The gallery has also pulled together viewing rooms of previous and memorable exhibitions. A notable addition here are the captivating sculptural installations by Sudarshan Shetty. His exhibition ‘A Song, A Story’, and ‘The Empty Vessel’ included 2 central installations, video pieces, and works of recycled teak wood and found ceramics and was on show in Dubai in 2018.

The gallery statement said that they have been working hard to remain dedicated to their role in sharing the “positive power of art” with its audiences. “Dark times like these shine a light on what is truly important in life and remind us to cherish our loved ones, family, and health more than anything.”

As well as the viewing rooms, the Art Dubai 2020 catalogue is also online and can be viewed here.
