Brazilian art collective to take part in Art Dubai

OPAVIVARÁ! an art collective from Rio de Janeiro, will be featured in Art Dubai this year. Since its creation in 2005, the group has been an active participant in the Brazilian contemporary art scene. The group has achieved great success, by developing actions in public spaces of different cities, galleries and cultural institutions, proposing inversions in the use of urban space, through the creation of relational devices that provide collective experiences, hence creating a unique experience for their audience.

Previous individual and group exhibitions include UTUPYA, at Tate Liverpool (2018); FLORA TREME, at Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen, Germany; A Gentil Carioca (2017); 32º São Paulo Biennal, Brazil (2016); Havana Biennial (2015); 9 º Taipei Biennial, Taiwan; ACCION URGENTE at the Fundación Proa, Buenos Aires (2014); Chuveirão, Projeto Parede Gentil 21, at A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro (2014); O Abrigo e o Terreno, at MAR – Museu de Arte do Rio, Rio de Janeiro (2013); Moita, ArtRio Solo Project, curated by Pablo Leon de La Barra (2012); VERBO Festival de Performance, Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo (2008). The collective also participated in INVISIBLES – Artists magazine, Bogotá, Colômbia and Encontro de Coletivos Brasil e Espanha, Madrid (2007). They participated in the 32ª São Paulo Biennial 2016 and in 2017 had a performance at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and exhibitions in Vienna, Lisbon, Leverkusen and Nice.
