New cash prize for artists aged 18-30
A new art prize of USD$15,000 has been launched for young artists aged 18 to 30. The ArtePrize has appointed a judging panel to assess pieces of two-dimensional art works on paper and canvas, photography and three-dimensional sculpture valued up to USD$25,000.
Applications will be whittled down to a short list of 100 and, from which 10 finalists will be selected to feature in a stand-alone exhibition at the Delfina Foundation, in London, in November 2017.
The winner, who will be selected on opening night, will win the cash prize as well as a three-month residency at the Delfina Foundation. Aaron Cezar, the founding director of the foundation is the chair of the judging panel, which also includes Nada Reza, curator of the Tate Research Centre, Rebecca Anne Proctor, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar Art Arabia, Joe Kennedy, Founder of The Unit, London, Rana Begum, an award winning British artist and Shohidul Ahad-Choudhury, founder of the prize.
